Has it really been a year since the last update? Tsk tsk. That will never do. To make up for this laziness and to get with the festive spirit we've added two new maps to the DeathMatch server.dm_jolly is a Christmas-themed map. Well, Christmas if it had taken a large quantity of acid, that is. It's a small, tight map with plenty of stuff - like, er, presents - to hide behind. Just watch out for the inevitable spawn rushes!dm_speedcastle is a more evenly balanced map with high ground (the main central tower) being the place to head to if you want to pick people off.Of course, the usual DeathMatch maps are still there in the cycle for you to enjoy. We'll be adding (and creating!) new DeathMatch maps in the new year, so look out for those as well. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our regular players who have made our servers their home and wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy new YearGL+HF!

We've added three new maps to the DeathMatch server for your playing pleasure. The new maps are: dm_crackhouse20, dm_hangumhigh, and dm_2bases.dm_crackhouse20 is a small and very well-made map that pits terrorists against counter-terrorists in classic style, but without any of that hostage-rescuing nonsense. It provides a great mix of in-your-face gunfights and long-range sniper action.dm_hangumhigh is a seemingly huge map but well-designed for deathmatch play. More sniper action here, but with opportunities for stabbing your opponent in the back with the two level teleporters. Yes, that's right - teleporters.dm_2bases is a small and simple map geared entirely towards running around and killing anything that moves. Set at night, the dark and spot-lit level makes for some jump-out-of-your-seat moments at times. Two raised areas should keep the snipers happy, but don't expect to be sitting comfortably up there as the small level size makes it very easy to get yourself ambushed.Of course, your two favourites of fy_twotowers_24 and fy_b_dusttower are still in the rotation. We have also dropped the server size from 24 to 20, not least because two of the maps have a 20-player limit. Let us know what you think of the new maps and by all means make suggestions for other maps you think we should include. The only guidelines to consider are size (mustn't be too big or too small), number of players (at least 20), a good mix of open and closed areas (look at the current maps), and mustn't be too big to download.GL+HF!

H0 h0 h0! Festive cheer to all of our members and regular players (well, the ones on the DM server at least)! We hope you're all full of mince pies and turkey to the point of practically exploding - as well as getting some CS:S play in. It looks like there is going to be something of a Clan NOS reunion of sorts on the main public server tomorrow or thereabouts. For those of you who don't know, some members of the long-dead NOS clan are founding members of this community. So if anyone is up for some public server action (and maybe some PCWs) then keep an eye on the servers over the next couple of days.Right, time to load up on more food... have a good Christmas Day everyone!GL+HF!

Apologies to players who have been connecting to the Deathmatch server recently to find that... it wasn't a deathmatch server at all. The recent Valve update prevented the CSS:DM plugin from loading correctly, but this has now been fixed. Also, there will be an update to the CSS:DM plugin during the next 24 hours, so please report any issues, stability problems, or gential warts, if you find them.GL+HF!

We know just how lazy you people are. You're the type of people who just can't be bothered to move your left hand five inches to the left to reach for a remote control to change the channel even when the omnibus edition of Antinques Roadshow comes on the TV.So, with you lazy people in mind, we've created an extension for the lovely Firefox web browser that adds a special H4XTBH menu to the memu bar to make it dead easy for you to check out the latest news and forums at a click of the mouse. You can even launch Counter-stike from it and join our lovely public server from the very same menu. Who says we don't care about you? That's right - we don't.If you don't have Firefox and you are a retard using IE6 or IE7, then click on the link below to go get it. You won't regret it, we promise. The extensions feature and Adblock Plus extension alone make it the most awesome browser out there. Honest. Look, even the girl in this picture thinks Firefox is simply hot!Get Firefox BrowserTo install our marvellous piece of H4XTBH technology, just click on the link below. Firefox will initally warn you that this site is trying to install something, so you need to click on the "Edit Options" button that appears top-right and allow H4XTBH.com. Click on the link below again and Firefox will alert you that you are about to install the h4xtbhmenu extension and that it is "unsigned". Don't worry about this, it's normal for extensions that haven't gone through the lengthy (and costly) approval process. Click on "Install Now" and the restart Firefox when prompted.Install H4XTBHMenu Firefox ExtensionAnd there you go - you should now see a [H4XTBH] menu in the toolbar at the top. Have a play and feel free to give us feedback as always.GL+HF!

As you may have noticed (blind people exempt) the site has undergone a radical make-over, become leaner looking, and somewhat easier on the eye. Gone are the old graphics-heavy layout and partially-updated icons. Trinny & Susannah would be proud. In particular, the forums and the chatbox are much easier to get around and view without getting a migraine. We'll be tweaking other bits and pieces on the site in the next few days, adding a couple of well-needed features here and there. There are a few little areas that are a work in progress, but we shold have those sorted by tomorrow. If you have any suggestions for what you'd like to see on the site then please comment on this post or scribble in the forums accordingly. This is your community, so we want to make it a place you want to come back to again and again. No, that does not mean we will be giving away free drinks. Keep your eyes peeled for our next announcement - something handy for your browser is coming very soon!GL+HF!

After having the Dust2/Office rotation on during the day for what seems like 317 years, we felt it was time for a change. So, low and behold, the daytime map rotation (that's 0300 to 1830 weekdays, and 0300 to 1400 weekends) is now a lovely combination of two well-known CPL maps: de_cpl_fire and de_cpl_mill.If you don't have these maps, don't worry, just connect to the H4XTBH server when the maps are running and your client will automatically download the map from our download server. You'll only need to download them once, so after that feel free to connect and play away!We will see how this rotation goes for a while. So far the feedback has been good, but we want to make sure everyone is happy with the new rotation before leaving it there. As usual, any comments are gratefully received. In other news, the server is now running at 100 tickrate. So it is a good idea to adjust your rates to 25000/100/100 or higher, as you see fit. Again, feedback has been good with the previous good reg now even better!GL+HF!

Yes, we know it's been quiet here at H4XTBH central for a good while now. Yes, we know you've needed admins around more than they have been recently. Yes, we know we're a no-good worthless bunch of morons with nothing better to do than surf endless streams of pr0n whilst calling it "research".We're been very busy getting everything together and getting the infrastructure in place behind the scenes for us to offer CSS private match servers to the great unwashed. Two new machines go in this week and we've been performing software upgrades in the background, plus fixing a few pesky bugs along the way. For example, the problem with confirmation and password reset mails not being sent out has been fixed. We've also been working on a new H4XTBH web site and new scripts for improving play on the H4XTBH public server. There's also plans to add a second public server - possibly with a single/dual map-only affair.Let us know if there is anything else you'd like to see or for us to change. Also, let us know of any problems or bugs on the site or the public server - including those you think we may already know about. We guarantee to only hit delete instantly on 50% of all mails received.GL+HF!

Listen up everyone. You there at the back, pay attention! The WTF public server and this web site are relocating their asses over to the new kit sitting in the new datacentre over the course of this evening. Anyone using the WTF.H4XTBH.com address to access the public server will find themselves on the new server over the course of the weekend thanks to a nifty DNS change. The forums and chatbox are closed during the move so that no-one loses any data, rants, slaggings, or love posts. If you receive the message "you are not authorized to post" it is because the forums are currently closed, not because we hate you.Later on tonight the current server instance will be reduced to 4 players and will tell you repeatedly to get your ass over to the new server IP. That will stay up for a few weeks until all of our beloved members and regulars have moved over. Then it will disappear. Poof. Woosh. Vanish. We're planning to start accepting orders for private match servers in about a week's time. If anyone is interested in renting a 10-14 manprivate CSS server from us, just slap a comment on this post (you must be a registered member of this site) and we'll contact you the moment they become available.

We will be very shortly be moving our core services, including this web site and the WTF public server, to a new server hosted in a shiny new datacentre suite. The new server is an Intel Dual 64-bit Xeon Dual-Core Woodcrest 2.67GHz monster with 8GB RAM and 1TB of RAID1 hard drive storage. This move is part of our expansion programme that will see us being able to host CSS private clanservers on a full-time basis, so keep your eyes peeled for the announcement of the availability of match servers in the coming weeks as they will be on a strictly first-come-first-served basis.Service disruption will be kept to a minimum, but there will be a 24-48 hour period where DNS and IP changes come into effect. The WTF public server will also have a new IP address, so you'll need to update your bookmarks accordingly. The old server will stay up for a few weeks to point people in the direction of the new IP. Otherwise, nothing will change - except that everything will run smoother and faster at this end. Please tell your friends about the move as we are keen to keep all of our regular players in the loop and not lose anyone by the wayside during the move.GL+HF!

As some off you enjoy background music during your killing sprees, we've now introduced in-game radio to the H4XTBH WTF Public Server.Rather than try to come up with our own pathetic radio station playing 12-hour marathon sessions of The Wurzels Greatest Hits interspersed with nauseatingly shrieking voiceover links, we've decided to come up with a decent spread of radio channels for you to enjoy instead. To play any of these channels in-game, simply type one of the following in chat: !chillout !dance !dnb !hiphop !rock !techno !xtremeTo stop radio playback, simply enter !stopradio. It's that easy. We'll soon be adding an in-game menu to make channel selection easier, and you can expect the spread of channels to increase a little over time.In un-radio-related news, [H4XTBH] wAgA is now a server admin. He should be around from time-to-time during the morning sessions to keep you all in check. So behave. GL+HF!
